Zeev Schwartz

Zeev Schwartz

Executive Director

Zeev was born in Johannesburg in 1967. After being inspired by Judaism and Zionism, Zeev made aliyah at the age of 17 as he participated in a year-long Bnei Akiva Hachshara program in Israel.  Afterwards he joned in the Machal Hesder program at Yeshivat Har Etzion and served in the Givati infantry brigade.  

Zeev has a BA in Jewish History and Political Science and an MA in Public Administration from Bar Ilan University. Zeev founded Torah MiTzion in 1995 and served as Executive Director for 10 years. He later served as Director General of World Bnei Akiva and founded Lev Yehudi – which provides Jewish centers for Israeli backpackers in India. Zeev returned to the position of Executive Director of Torah MiTzion in June 2012.  

Zeev and his wife, Shulamit, live in Shoham in central Israel.

Director of Finance and IT

Efie Vogel was born in New Jersey, USA.
Immigrated to Israel at the age of 7 with his parents and sisters in 1972.

He graduated from Yeshiva HaKotel and served in the IDF as a platoon sergeant in the Givati Brigade.

Certified accountant since 1998
Has a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Open University.
Has a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Accounting from the Hebrew University.
Qualified as a mediator on behalf of “Goma” College

He served in a variety of financial positions.
He was a financial manager at Gesher Organization, and founded and managed the finance department of Yeshivat Torah BetZion Or Olam.
He managed the business credit department at Poalei Agudath Israel Bank, Geula branch, and served as part of the controller’s staff at the “First international bank of Israel”.
He was a manager in the consulting and management department.of the accounting firm -Ziv Haft – BDO

Married to Ruchamah (Neriya), they have six children and live in Beit Shemesh

Office Manager

Esther was born in Jerusalem, as the first “sabra” to parents who made Aliya from NY in the 1970’s.

She has a B.Ed. in Tanach and English from Jerusalem College for Girls, and certification studies.

Held various positions in administration in a number of educational frameworks.

She lives with her husband, Asher, and their seven children in the city of Maaleh Edumim.

Media coordinator and graphic designer, Advisor for Shlichot

Born in Jerusalem, and has a B.Ed in Art and Judaism. Studied Visual Communication at ‘Brainstorming’ (Siur Mochot).

Went on Shlichut with her family twice: to Norway and Brazil.

Lives with her husband and children in Elazar.

Shlichim Recruiter

Born in Switzerland, Jakie made Aliyah with his family in 1995. He learnt in the Hesder Yeshiva in Holon and served in the Alra”m unit in the IDF.

Jakie was a Torah MiTzion Shaliach in Munich, Germany (2009-10), and after his successful shlichut he went to study Social Sciences, International Relations and Communication in The Open University.

Parallel to his studies he also worked as a bachurim recruiter for Torah MiTzion. Today he serves as Recruiting Coordinator for all our shlichim.

 Jakie and his wife, Mercedes, live in Rechovot.

Project Coordinator

Born in Jerusalem, and the first Sabra in her family. Her parents made aliya from the USA in the 1960s.
Has an MA in French from Bar-Ilan University, and over 20 years of experience working in various non-profit organizations.

Daniela lives with her children in Jerusalem.

Aharon Lemberger

Shlichut Coordinator

Son of immigrants from the USA, born in Jerusalem, and raised in Efrat.

Aharon studied at the Hesder Yeshiva in Sderot and the High Yeshiva in Tel Aviv, after which

he served in the Yalam unit. He is a lawyer. Aaron recently returned with his wife and children from Shlichut  in Scotland, where he served as a campus rabbi and director of youth programs in the Jewish community in Glasgow.

Aharon and his family live in Gva’ot Eden.

Born in Jerusalem and raised in Beit Shemesh A graduate of the Hesder Yeshiva in Ma’ale Adumim, during which he served in the Armored Corps.
In 2019-2020, Amitai went on Shlichut on behalf of Torah Mitzion in Melbourne, Australia.
He earned a BA in education at Herzog College.
He now combines his studies towards an MA in social work at Hebrew University, with Advisor for Shlichot of Torah Mitzion shlichim.

Coordinator Lilmod - German

Coordinator of the department for 

German speakers in the program ‘Lilmod’ – Beit Midrash Online.

Rotem was born and raised in Nahalim.

She has an MA in history from Ben Gurion University of the Negev.

She went on shlichut to Germany with her family through Torah MiTzion (Munich and Berlin).

In addition to her work as a Lilmod coordinator, Rotem works in the field of communities in the city of Lod.

Rotem and her husband Eliezer live in Lod with their five children.

Coordinator Lilmod - Spanish

The coordinator of the department for Spanish speakers in the ‘Lilmod’ program – Beit Midrash Online.

Carolina graduated with a degree in education with a specialization in educational technology at the University of Buenos Aires.

Established and managed several educational programs successfully in various organizations in Argentina.

Upon immigrating to Israel, she devoted much time to Jewish education of female students and to the training of women for community work. She then moved on and worked as coordinator of “Tzipor Hanefesh” – an aid program for small Jewish communities in Latin America and Spain.

In January 2020, she established the ‘Banim Atem’ school, the first Jewish virtual school, which supplements Jewish education for children without access to formal Jewish education, (an initiative supported by the education representatives of the State of Israel)

She lives in Beit Shemesh with her husband and daughter.

Coordinator of the department for French speakers in the ‘Lilmod’ program – Beit Midrash Online.

Yoan Aharon was born in France, and made aliya at 18, after finishing his highschool.  

He  graduated from the ‘Heichal Eliyahu’ yeshiva and earned a teacher’s certificate and an M.A.in Didactic Diagnosis at Hebrew University. 

Yoan and his wife Moriah live in Jerusalem with their 2 daughters.

Coordinator Lilmod - Russian

Coordinator of a department for Russian speakers in the ‘Lilmod’ program – Beit Midrash Online.

Natan was born in the Soviet Union and immigrated to Israel with his wife and three children in 1987.

He was active in the fight for Jewish emigration to Israel  in the 1980s, and was a ‘refusenik’ being’ refused permission to emigrate.

Since his aliya, he has been active in spreading Judaism among Russian speakers.

He lives with his family in Ma’ale Adumim, he has four children and five grandchildren

Hila was born and lives in Givat Shmuel. She’s the Second out of four children. After graduating from “Amit” high school, she is now in her first year of sherut Leumi.
