The wives of male shlichim & Roshei Kollel are trained to lead learning programs for women including the ‘Beit Midrash L’nashim’. In any case, for communities looking for a special focus on the women and school girls of the community, Torah MiTzion believes that the time has arrived to relate to women’s learning as a separate model – “Midreshet Tzion”.
Today Religious Zionist institutions in Israel have trained a dynamic array of woman Torah scholars. Midreshet Tzion is the model of shlichut that utilizes this tremendous resource in order to the benefit Diaspora communities. Torah MiTzion recruits and trains women from Israeli Midrashot in order to teach and inspire within the ‘Midreshet Tzion’ framework.
This program offers a full team of shlichot specially recruited and trained in order to impact Jewish communities in the same way our Kollel Tzioni has operated over the last eighteen years. Midreshet Tzion will take the ‘Beit Midrash L’nashim’ to the next level by offering a complete Midrasha with a Rosh Midrasha, Bnot Midrasha (married and/or single) and various educational frameworks from which to engage women within the host community. It is important to note that when a Roshat Midrasha is recruited, her husband will also serve as a shaliach in an educational role within the community as well.
The ‘shlichot’ have set learning hours each day under the guidance of a Rosh Midrasha (male or female) in order to maintain their development as ‘talmidot chachamot’, much like within the Kollel Tzioni model.
