Last week, over 30 outgoing Shlichim joined us at Kibbutz Migdal Oz for their final training seminar before they leave for shlichut. 25 bachurim, 6 families and the entire Torah MiTzion Israel staff were in attendance. The seminar began on Wednesday, July 13th, and ended on Sunday the 17th with a moving send-off ceremony.

The Shlichim heard sessions on a wide range of topics, including a workshop on acting and improvisation, how to work as a team, meeting olim and alumni from the various communities, how to plan a community-wide event, tools to manage a successful Facebook page and how to deal with Halachic issues on shlichut.

Among the speakers were former Roshei Kollel Rav Yehuda Lapian (Washington 2006-2010) and Rav Rafi Kadosh (Cape Town 1999-2001), who shared from their experiences on shlichut and beyond.

On Shabbat, the shlichim welcomed the Kruger family, who were our guests for the weekend. Rav Yaakov and Vardit opened the Kollel in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1997. Over the course of Shabbat Rav Kruger and Vardit gave shiurim and spent time with the outgoing shlichim. Also joining us for Shabbat was the extended Torah MiTzion family; Zeev Schwartz (Executive Director), Emanuel Elstein (CFO), Yoav Cohen-Hadad (Head of Shlichut Department), Hasida Pinchuk (Coordinator of Midreshet Tzion and Advisor for the Shlichim) and Arik Speaker (Head of European Desk and coordinator of LILMOD) together with their spouses and children.

The weekend was productive, meaningful and fun!
